Saving
- From your phone
- Tap the Share button on any page or post, then choose Neat. If there is no Share button, press and hold the link and choose Share. The first time, Neat may not be in the row of apps yet: scroll that row all the way right, tap More, then switch Neat on. Saving takes a few seconds while Neat reads the page and pulls out the images and video, so wait for the confirmation before you close the sheet. Neat saves links, so share from Safari, Instagram or Pinterest rather than straight from your camera roll.
- From your browser
- Install the Chrome extension, then open a page and click the Neat icon in your toolbar. The extension reads the page and shows you what it found, so you pick exactly what you want to keep instead of taking all of it. To grab one thing on its own, right click it and choose Save to Neat. That works on images, video, audio, links, and the page itself.
- From a link
- Open Add inspiration and paste a link from anywhere on the web. If you already have one copied, Neat fills it in for you. You get a preview before anything is saved, and you can fix the title or send it straight into a project from there.
- What actually comes through
- A link pointing straight at an image or a video saves that one thing. A link to a whole page saves what is on that page, which can be dozens of images at once. Neither is wrong, but it is worth knowing which you are about to get: a post URL gives you the post, a homepage gives you the whole wall.
Organizing
- Projects
- Projects gather saves around a single piece of work. Drag a card onto a project in the sidebar to file it, or add it from the card menu. One save can sit in several projects at once, and pulling it out of a project never removes it from your library.
- Tags and comments
- Open anything in your library to retitle it, tag it, or comment on it. Tags are free text: type one and press Enter. Comments are where the reason you saved something goes, which is reliably the first thing you forget.
- Finding it again
- Search from the top of your library. When you remember the shape of something but not a single word of its name, switch the wall to group by site, date, or type and scan for it instead.
- Archive
- Archiving takes something out of your library without deleting it. It moves to Archive and can be restored whenever you want. Reach for it when a save has done its job but you are not ready to lose it.
Your account
- Password
- On the login screen, choose Forgot password? and Neat emails you a verification code to sign in with. Set a new password from Profile settings once you are in. You can also sign in with Google or Apple, which skips passwords entirely.
- Deleting your account
- Avatar in the top right, then Profile settings, then Delete account. This removes your account and everything saved in it, permanently and immediately. If you only want a quieter library, archive instead.
- What we do with your library
- Nothing. It is private to you, it is not a feed, nobody else sees it unless you share it, and it is not training anything. The Privacy Policy has the long version.
